Requests for repeat prescriptions must be in writing to help avoid mistakes.
Requests will not normally be taken over the phone.
Please deliver by hand, post, fax 01454 416090 or use the on line form for your prescription request to the Health Centre in good time as it takes 48 hours to process a prescription.
Requests delivered/received by 11.00 am one day will be ready for collection after 3.00 pm in two working days.
The prescription can be posted to you if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
The Thornbury Chemists will collect prescriptions from the Health Centre so that you can pick up your medication directly from the chemist of your choice.
Please allow the Pharmacists a further 24 hours to prepare your medicines safely.
When picking up your medication from the Chemist please check it is correct before leaving the premises.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see the doctor for a review of their treatment at regular intervals.
NHS Guidelines for repeat prescription limits are as follows:
- Patients aged 75 years and above - One month supply
- Patients under 75 years - Two months supply
- Travelling abroad - Three months supply of medication can be prescribed by your GP. You will need to make arrangements for further medication within the country you are travelling to.
- Prescription Charges as from 1 April 2009 - £7.20
